Dr Francesco Muscolino

Francesco Muscolino (1976), after his BA (Laurea in Lettere classiche) in Catania University (1999), attained the Specialization in Archaeology in the same University (2004), and the PhD (Dottorato in Archeologia e storia dell’arte greca e romana) in the University of Messina (2008). Since 2010 he is archaeologist in the Ministry of Culture (Ministero della Cultura), working from 2010 to 2016 in the Soprintendenza per i beni archeologici della Lombardia, from 2016 to 2017 in the Polo Museale della Campania, and from 2017 to 2020 in the Parco Archeologico di Pompei. Since 2020 he is Director of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Cagliari. He has written about one hundred and fifty scientific papers published on scientific journals and in the proceedings of conferences, dealing mainly with ancient pottery, epigraphy, topography and the history of collections and of archaeological research.
